You come to me often.

You come to me often.

I try to fight you,

Sometimes I win;

But you always survive,

To haunt me another day.

You come to me often.

I try to conceal you,

By burying you in my hands;

I try to push you away,

But you always slip through.

You come to me often.

When I am numb with memories,

You don’t exist;

When the pain starts to fade away,

You appear; yet again.

You come to me often.

When I least expect it,

You choke me;

I have some control over you;

You warn me, its futile to use it.

You come to me often.

It’s hard to stop you;

You run down my cheeks,

From my brimming red eyes;

Leaving a trail behind.
